WINTER LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL

Unfortunately our valiant First Team lost out on Sunday afternoon to an extremely strong Glasnevin side. The tennis was a joy to watch, the pace was unbelievable and Sandycove were very close to clinching second sets in all games. I would like to congratulate the team, and the brilliant subs, on a fabulous campaign; your club is very proud of you all, ladies!

SOCIAL NIGHT LAST FRIDAY

I would like to thank our amazing social committee, especially Amy Murray, Clare Morris, Mairéad Mackey, Catherine McCooey and Zuilmah Wallis who ran a brilliant social on Friday night. The food was delicious, the tennis was brilliant fun and the craic all night was mighty. These socials are becoming the hottest ticket in town! It was a lot of hard work and your club is extremely grateful.

LAST CALL FOR SUMMER LEAGUE LADDERS AND ROUND ROBINS

I will be taking down the sign-up sheet for Summer League tomorrow morning. I really appreciate all those who have signed up so far, and would encourage everyone interested to please put their names down. I would like to reiterate that the ladders and round robins are to be fun, competitive matches that will inform – but not be the sole basis for – league selection. Please put your name down if you are at all interested in summer league, everyone is welcome and will be accommodated whether you have a partner or not. If you can’t make it down to the club, please text me or email me on STCladycaptain@gmail.com.

I just want to add the caveat that while we will always seek to accommodate people with their preferred partner, the selection committee reserves the right to pick the teams it feels will be most successful, which in some cases may involve putting people with different partners. I would ask for your understanding as we seek to pick the best teams for our club. The matches will also be very good practice at a competitive pace before we start our league campaign, and we should have two weeks at the end to have our league coaching in our selected teams, which will really help.

Many thanks to all the amazing Sandycove ladies,

Fleur
