Tennis Re- Opening at Level 3

Hi All,
We are sure you have all been watching the News waiting for the much anticipated reopening of Tennis. We are now delighted to be able to play again.

Firstly we’d like to remember all of our members who have been affected in any way by Covid 19. It has been very difficult for some of us.

We can influence how long the courts stay open by our individual behaviours. With the reduction in restrictions announced this week the virus will be delighted to spread more easily among us. We need to adhere to the guidelines set out below. We will have supervisors checking on adherence over the coming weeks so please respect their task in keeping us safe.

The government has, as you know, put us on Level 3 of the National Plan. Tennis Ireland have a Framework for Playing Tennis during Covid 19. We will, as previously, be adopting their protocols.

For us that means:
1. We can resume singles and doubles tennis from next Tuesday 1st December.
2. No competitive matches allowed – casual tennis only.
3. Courts must be pre-booked and all players must be on the booking (names can be amended up to time of play).
4. Playing time is limited to 55 minutes and to ensure compliance please set an alarm at the start.
5. Players Under 16 years of age must be supervised.
6. Toilet facilities will be open.
7. The changing rooms and upstairs facilities will remain closed.
8. Groups of up to 6 people can avail of coaching subject to social distancing measures.
9. Cancelling tennis courts can be done right up to the scheduled playing time.

We will open booking from today at 9pm when you will be able to book three days in advance, i.e. today for Tuesday, Sunday booking for Wednesday etc.

We request that members only play 3 times in the first week of re-opening to allow all members to participate in our much loved sport.

We also need to remember a few more things,
You must live within the county to play at the moment, no intercounty travel is allowed until the 18th December.
Please ensure you use the sanitiser at the gate on arrival and bring your own for before and after your game.
Please ensure you walk up the avenue on the right hand side and down again on your right.
Please don’t linger in the club and manage your social distance from others on the club grounds.
If we can manage our own Social Distancing we will not need to reintroduce volunteer supervisors.
When using the toilets please use them one person at a time.
As you know parking in the area around the club has become very difficult and is proving difficult for our neighbours. Please don’t block their gates or park on yellow lines.

Please don’t come to the club if you;
Have any Covid 19 symptoms,
Have been out of the country in the last 14 days,
Have been in contact with someone who has Covid 19 symptoms in the last 14 days,
Are feeling unwell.

Thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you on the Tennis Courts in a few days’ time.
Please do remember, each of us can influence how long we stay away from another club closure.
Enjoy your tennis.

Your Committee.
