The event got off to a great start on Friday night as 36 players did battle before settling into pizzas and beers in the bar.
The success of this event is dependent on team members advising their captains as soon as they know they can’t make a particular night and then on the willingness of subs to step into the breach. In the latter regard we’d like to thank Paul Ivory, Paul Kilduff, Lar Enderson and John Marks for subbing in. Special thanks also to Sam Totterdell, Harry Wall, Stephen McGoohan and Fred O’Neill for playing a second match on the night.
The table is tight after Round 1 and the leaders are Rory’s Rockets on 11 points, Keith’s Killers on 10, Fred’s Flyers on 9 and Alan’s Artists on 8 points. Keith had to take alternative action when his “Keith’s Killers” Whats App invitation was reported by one of his team members to the What’s App Criminal Activities department, but we understand that it’s active again!
The teams are below, and to help reduce the confusion going forward, a pair get 4 points if they win 12 or more games. 3 points for 9-11 games, 2 points for 8 games and 1 point for 4-7 games.
There will be two more rounds on 13 and 27 April and hopefully the weather will again be as kind to us then.
