Sandycove Ladies Christmas Extravaganza

Ho, ho, ho ladies, it’s time for the highlight of your festive season, the Sandycove Ladies Christmas Party! This year’s party will be held on Friday, November 29th in the clubhouse. There will be tennis first, at 7pm, followed by prosecco at 8.30, with dinner served at 9pm sharp. Dinner includes a main course and dessert, and a glass of wine (you can buy more, don’t worry) , and cost for the evening is 25 Euro per person. We are also asking you to bring a small kris kindle present for some lucky (or unlucky) recipient, to cost 5 euro or less, please.

Sign up sheets are on the board NOW – we need to know numbers for the caterer so please sign up asap. Let us know whether you want to play tennis and dine, or just have dinner only. You can also email STCladycaptain@gmail.com or text me on 0867959430, if that’s easier. Also just make a note if you are vegetarian so we can cater accordingly. We have a crack team of party organisers on the case, it’s going to be great night, so please sign up quickly to reserve your place!

Floodlight League News

Our courageous third team, captained by Helen Hughes and featuring Linda Walsh, Amy Murray and Anne Hayden, were just pipped by a very high-quality Leixlip 1st on Tuesday. Anne played an absolute stormer against a classy opponent who would be playing Class 2 tennis anywhere else, it was a joy to watch. Tough luck girls, you had such a brilliant run, you deserved to get a promotion. Next time!

Our first team will play Donnybrook 2 away in the quarter finals this Tuesday the 12th at 7.30pm. Support would be welcome if anyone wants to break the journey home from town! We wish our team, captained by Emma O’Rourke and featuring Sandie O’Callaghan, Sarah Emerson and Áine Leonard, the very best of luck.
