After a topsy-turvy Senior League season for the Sandycove Ladies, we have emerged bloody but unbowed with one team through to the playoffs. Our brilliant Fifth team, captained by Jenny McCann, topped their group and will face Laytown/Bettystown at home in Sandycove this Sunday October 6 at 2pm. Please come down and cheer them on as they battle to secure a place in the quarter finals and promotion to Class 5!

Darren Mooney Tournament, Friday October 11
The Darren Mooney Mixed Doubles Tournament with Glenageary is being held on Friday October 11, with tennis in Sandycove and Glenageary, followed by dinner and fun in Glenageary from 9pm. Price is 25 euro per head in aid of the Darren’s Well charity. This is a very special evening, a true club night with a good standard of tennis and we would like a good turnout from Sandycove, please. Sign up with a few of your tennis friends and enjoy some good games and good fun in aid of a worthy cause.

Coffee Morning in aid of the Irish Cancer Society
Our esteemed past captain Jenny Cullen organised a fantastic coffee morning last Friday. The clubhouse was turned into a beautiful tea room and all attendees enjoyed delicious homemade cakes and coffee and a good chat and a laugh together. It was particularly nice to see a few new members along, too. The raffle prizes were very generous and Jenny raised €1020 for the Irish Cancer Society, so a huge thanks to everyone who came along and took part, you can all be very proud of yourselves!

Floodlight League 2019
Floodlight League begins Tuesday October 1 and we have two matches at home in Sandycove. Our first team take on Monkstown 1, always an absorbing clash, while our third team also take on Monkstown. Both games start at 7.30, and the third set in Floodlight this year is a Champions Tiebreak, so the matches should be really entertaining. The balcony is more Autumnal now in comparison to the balmy nights of Championships, but the tennis will be just as exciting, so put on a coat and get yourself down there to support your club!
