Dear Members
We are delighted to be open now since Monday and lots of us have had the opportunity to play tennis for the first time since March under the new Return to Play protocols.
I would like to thank all of those who have worked very hard in the background to make this possible, in particular our Duty Supervisors who are manning the Courts for two hour slots each day.
We have opened up additional bookings from Thursday 21 May and hope to continue to provide these additional hours. We are a community club and this will be dependent on the availability of our volunteers. I would like to particularly thank Catherine McCooey, Rob Neiland and the team of supervisors for the significant amount of work carried out daily in order that you can play tennis.
These protocols will remain in place for the foreseeable future and we would like to remind members of the following
:
- Only the PLAYERS ON THE BOOKING will be allowed access to the Club to play. If your name is not on the booking, you must ask the person who booked the Court to put your name on the booking. The person who booked the court must be there to play and opponents can be changed or the court can be cancelled at short notice. The cancellation time has been temporarily removed so that bookings may be changed or cancelled at short notice.
- We are sorry but NO VISITORS OR SPECTATORS ARE ALLOWED to the Club to watch members playing. This includes children who are not playing but accompanying an adult or family member who is playing. We realise that this might be an inconvenience but please be aware of this as the Duty Supervisors will not allow access to any non-player. The only exception to this is where junior members require adult supervision and in such case, only one adult is allowed to supervise.
- We are asking members to PLAY ONLY ONCE per day for the moment – this is to ensure as many people as possible get access to Courts. If you are down to play twice in a day (singles or doubles) and whether you have booked the court or not, we would ask you to change these bookings now. We are monitoring the bookings on a daily basis.
Yours in tennis
Philip Bayfield,
President
