Yesterday the club held an EGM to amend the club’s constitution and enable the appointment of a Vice President to the Committee. This is an important new role to help and support the President each year. And the role of Vice President will enable a smooth transition to the role of President each year at the AGM.
At the EGM Colin Grant was nominated and elected as the club’s first Vice President.
David Hanley, the club’s President, commented: “It is great that the club has created this new role and I am delighted that Colin has been appointed. He is a longstanding member who is held in high regard and has experience of being on the Committee when he was the Men’s Captain of the tennis club in 2019. I look forward to working with him and wish him the very best of luck in his new role.”
Colin Grant commented: “I am delighted and honoured to have been elected as our first Vice President. I am really looking forward to working with our President, the rest of the Committee and all 900 members of our great club. It is a fantastic opportunity. One of my principal aims is to continue to develop our culture of diversity and inclusivity. Our members have such a wonderful variety of experience, skills and ideas that I would like to encourage you all to be involved and contribute to the running of our club in some way. Join in and be a part of something great! I look forward to being in touch going forward as your new Vice President.”
