The final group stage matches were played over the Weekend with three out of 6 of our teams qualifying for the knockout stages of the event.

Our first team defeated Trinity 2-1 to take second place in the group to Donnybrook and will now take on Templeogue march 8th away from home. Solid performances from Oisin, Ronan, Rob, Steve and Reon and Harry. The lads have every chance at getting through to the last 8.

Sandycove 2 had a great result on Sunday winning 3-0 away to Greystones 2 with Will Fitzgerald subbing in for the Paul, harry wall in for Roy and Luke and Catalin wining a 3 set match 6/4 in the 3rd. great result propelling Louis and the lads into 1st place in the group and now rewarded with a bye week before the last 16 match

SLTC men’s 4th team were top of their section in class 4 with 9 points when they travelled to nearby Glenageary 4. Alas two hours later the team had suffered their first three nil defeat. Paul Kilduff and Mark Cunningham lost in 2 sets, as did Tim Eaton and David Murphy. Super subs Conor O’Reilly and John f also lost in 2 sets. The team looked destined to miss a playoff spot by a single point but since three teams all finished on 9 points each, second placed SLTC progress to a playoff away to Navan 1 on Sunday thanks to losing three sets less than the third placed team. Fine margins indeed!
