Well done to both our 3rd and 4th teams who won their quarter finals last night in gale force conditions.

Our 3rds won 2-1 away to Castleknock in Class 4 with Brian O’Gorman winning his singles comfortably 6-1 6-3 and yours truly returned from down under and a decline in the temperature from 38 degrees to 5 degrees to squeeze through in the other singles 6-3 6-4. Sam and Luke Hanley came up against a strong combination and lost out in the doubles 6-2 6-3. The team will now be away to Clane in the semi-finals next Monday at 7.30pm.

The 4ths had a 3-0 win at home to LCC in Class 5. Harry Wall continued his impressive form winning his singles 6-1 6-1, while Mark Cunningham also won well in his singles 6-0 7-5. Roy Bailey and Ken Browne were happy to be drawn in the doubles (!) and won 6-1 6-4. Many thanks to all those who braved the elements and came down to support. The team will play their semi-final at home next Monday at 7.30 against Mount Pleasant and all support is welcome once again (and also to Clane for the 3rds if anyone is up for making that glamour trip!).

Best of luck to both teams next week.
Colin
