A huge congratulations from everyone at the club to our men’s 1st team that won their Class 2 semi-final away to Shankill 1sts by 3-2. The team has now been promoted into Class 1, which is a brilliant achievement. The final will be played at 11.30 am tomorrow (Saturday) in Clontarf and all support would be extremely welcome and appreciated.

In the semi-final at No 2 singles Rory Curtis continued his phenomenal run of form winning 6-2 6-0. At No 1 doubles Richie Morris and Steve Gill combined well to win 7-5 6-2 and at No 2 doubles Reon Ferreira and Will Fitzgerald had a great win 6-3 7-6 winning the crucial second set tie-break to complete the victory and seal our place in the final and promotion. At No 1 singles Rob Neiland came up against a national senior indoor champion so that was always going to be a step too far while Louis Hemeryck came up short against a strong opponent at No 3 singles but put in a performance that was full of promise for the future.

We wish the team the very best of luck in the final.

See you there!
