Ladies! We have 2 teams top of their sections!!
Class 7 and Class 8 teams are blazing a trail – so proud of you girls – keep up the good work!

Last Sunday was a mixed bag – 3 wins across the 8 teams.
Sandycove 1 in Class 2 were defeated by our old rivals Glenageary 1. Glenageary had a very strong team, including under 16 no. 4 in Ireland! Ellen & Ali at 1s and Lucy and SJ at 3s both managed to really put it up to Glenageary in 3 sets but were unlucky in the end. Our first team have a big challenge this weekend and we wish them all the best.

Sandycove 2, playing class 3 away to Mount Pleasant had a tough day at the office – always difficult to return without points. Best of luck next week ladies and thanks Andrea for subbing last Sunday.

Sandycove 3, ALSO playing class 4 were away vs Mount Pleasant. Ails and Fleur did us proud at 1st pairing, The only point this week for this team – Helen and Charlie brought their pairing to 3 sets but were disappointed in the end. This team are second in their section so all to play for yet!

Angela’s class 4 team, kindly assisted by 3 wonderful subs, lost out to a very strong Navan side. With 3 gaps this week, the team got creative with the line up but their best efforts were in vain. Chin up ladies. There’s always next week! thanks indeed to Suzanne Quinn, Anne Hayden and May Gallagher.

Class 5 slogged it out away to Rathgar 4 and won 2-1. Sarah Beth and Clodagh unlucky in 3 sets at 1, Mandy and Colette and Jade and super-sub Eva Bennett scooped points. . . . Class 5 are in a very tight box so every point counts. . . .

Class 6 hosted Trinity 3 (or part thereof!) at home.
Ann Herbert and Mairead W were such a daunting prospect that the Trinity 3rd pairing chickened out! That yielded one point to Sandycove with the 1s and 2s disappointed.

Class 7 had another comprehensive 3-0 win away to St Marys 4. Fiona, Jenny, Grace, Oisine, Ellen and Mags all delivered. Top of the table – keep it going girls!!

A clean sweep also for class 8! At home vs DeVesci, Oilbhe, Elaine, Mary, Siobhan, Cliona and Kathy did us proud. Also topping their section – hoping for playoffs!!

The biggest challenge for this coming Sunday was fielding teams!!!
With Covid still creeping among us and mid term holidays – this Sunday will prove to be a real Sandycove squad effort. Many thanks to all who have agreed to help out – particularly those who are spending much of their Sunday travelling far afield to give their club a dig out. You guys are great! hope you are rewarded with much deserved points!!

Go Sandycove!!
