FLOODLIGHT LEAGUE

After five weeks of play, most of it in the cold, wind and rain, the Sandycove ladies have not one but TWO teams through to the floodlight playoff stages. Our first team, captained by Emma O’Rourke, enjoyed a great 3-0 win last week against Lansdowne to secure a playoff place away versus Donnybrook 2 on November 12th.

Our third team, captained by Helen Hughes and featuring Linda Walsh, Anne Hayden and Amy Murray in starring roles, with best supporting actress going to their beautiful sub Aileen Regan, topped their group and will play at home against Leixlip 1 on Tuesday evening at 7.30. Please come down and support the girls on Tuesday, they are playing for promotion to Class 3, which would be well-deserved.

It has been a hugely successful season so far, with AIdeen Sheehan’s second team, in their first year in Class 2 after winning promotion last year, only just missing out on qualification from their group. Many thanks to all the players for providing such entertaining tennis so far, and we look forward to cheering Helen and her team to promotion on Tuesday night. The bar will be open!

LADIES CHRISTMAS PARTY, SAVE THE DATE

The Ladies Christmas party will take place on Friday November 29th. Please save the date, it will be great to see as many familiar faces as possible for tennis followed by FUN!
