Dear ladies,

Well, what a fantastic three Sundays of competitive tennis we’ve had this June! It was truly wonderful to see so many brilliant matches being played after such a long absence. The sun was shining for all of the games and our tennis gladiators fought tooth and nail for every point.

A big shout out to all our wonderful subs, who rocked up and played their hearts out, some of whom ended up playing every Sunday!!

Jenny’s Jaguars were off to a relatively slow start but they finished with a flourish last Sunday and came in with a very respectable 17 points

Karen’s Kangaroos were in with a shout until the final Sunday but just didn’t have enough in the tank to steal a surprise victory. They ended their campaign on 20 points.

It was an epic battle between Fleur’s Foxes and Sarah’s Scorpions who were both in contention for the title and in blazing heat, the teams pitched against one another with Sarah’s Scorpions triumphing well in the end.

Foxes’ final score was 28 and Scorpions won gloriously with 39 points!!!

Huge congratulations to all the Scorpion players. Your schamazing prizes are winging their way to the bar in Sandycove, with 2 free drink vouchers per player. (No scrimping on prizes 😊)

Well done to everyone who took part. The spirit, craic and competitiveness of ladies tennis in Sandycove is well and truly back!!
