Parents,

Summer is in full swing with lots of Sandycove juniors participating in numerous tournaments and events around the country, producing some great tennis and some fantastic results! Congrats to all the following players on their achievements so far!

In the BRAY OPEN, Harry Owens and Oisin O’Hanlon reached the quarter finals of the U18 Boys Singles,both going down in third set tie breaks. Great effort from the boys, fighting until the end. Result could so very easily have gone the other way.

In the CARRICKMINES JUNIOR OPEN, the powerful pairing of twins Sophie and Cara Fitzgerald got to the final of the U10 Girls Doubles!  Theo Claffey reached the quarters of the u14 boys doubles and also reached the semi-finals of the GREYSTONES JUNIOR OPEN Boys U14 Doubles !

Congrats to Oisin O’ Hanlon who showed great fight and determination to win the TRAMORE OPEN (photo attached). Oisin was 5-1 and set points down in his semi final, clawing his way back for the win. Also, in the final Oisin found himself 5-3 and set points down in the 1st set only to again fight hard and turn it around winning in straight sets 7-6 6-2. The trophy which goes back to 1946 also names Oisin’s father Jim O’Hanlon, who won the tournament aswell back in the day! So nice to see it return to O’ Hanlon household!

CARRICKMINES SENIOR OPEN
Congrats to Harry Owens who got to the final of the Class 2 doubles, knocking out the number 1 seeds in the semi final 7-6 6-7 7-6 in an epic battle!  Harry also reached quarters of Class 2 singles. Well done on a great tournament.

KILKENNY
Congrats to Will Fitzgerald who reached the semis of the U14 Boys Singles and was runner up in the U14 Boys Doubles. Well done also to Oisin O’ Hanlon who won the u18 mixed and got to the semis of boys doubles.

GREYSTONES JUNIOR OPEN
In the u 12 Phoenix tournament, Stephen McDowell qualified for the Silver event and came runner up. Ronan Prior qualified for the Phoenix Gold and reached the semi finals and Luke Daly also qualified for the Gold event and reached the quarter finals. In the u18 Open singles Harry Owens reached the semi finals.
