**JUNIOR RESULTS**

The Junior League is currently underway and we have 5 teams competing in U12 and U18 events. The U18 Boys played a very strong and much older Shankill team the first week and unfortunately went down 3-0 but showed great grit last Sunday, bouncing back with a 3-0 victory over Newtown Park. Well done to Will Fitzgearld, Max Vidal, Caoimhin Cronin and Sam Hughes. The U18 girls have played one match so far after a reschedule due to poor weather a few weeks ago. On Sunday, they played a strong Glenageary team but took a valuable point away with a great win from Maebh Moore.

Our U12 Mixed Team kicked off their campaign on Sunday with a 2-1 victory over Naas, and some solid wins from Conor Flanagan/ Zach Bailey and Samuel Long/ Ciara O’Sullivan. The U12 Boys had a superb 3-0 win over Monkstown the first week with great performances from the boys. Well done to Conor White/ Alex Wardlaw, Cian Murphy/Noah Vidal and Cillian Murphy/Max Kane. Next up was a very strong Clontarf team, who unfortunately nabbed all 3 points. Our U12 Girls Team came up against David Lloyd in their first match who proved too strong in tough conditions of lashing hailstones! Next up was Sutton who just pipped a 2-1 victory after a 3rd set championship tie break in one of the matches. It was a great battle from our second pairing of Keela and Rhea McNichols. Well done to Cara and Sophie Fitzgearld on their win and picking up a valuable point for the team.

It is still early days in the league campaign and I want to thank all players and team managers for their efforts. For some of our U12s, it is their first league experience and I can’t stress enough how important matchplay is! Win or lose, every match is valuable and the kids will be learning so much!

Congratulations to the U12 Stars and Stripes team who won the Shield in Bray Tennis Club a couple of weeks ago. Well done to all the players and a thank you to Shelagh Cunningham for all her help in organising.
