IN REMEMBRANCE
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sandycove Tennis Club Member and past Captain, Denise French.
Denise French (Blennerhassett), passed away on 21st November 2022. Beloved wife of Leo (Past President), devoted mother of Conor, Daragh and Cristin, daughter of Eddie and the late Joan, sister of Yvonne, Ed and Mark and Nana to Leo, Julian, Oliver and Declan. Also condolences to her sisters-in-law and club members Catherine and Kate and brother-in-law David and Mick. She will be sadly missed by her immediate and extended family plus her wide circle of friends.
Denise was an active and prominent member of our club. Whether on committee (Captain 2012), playing league, social tennis or just attending various functions and general participation in Sandycove. Denise was also a talented artist and her creative skills were called on many a time to provide the backdrop for the stage at previous Christmas shows and other events at the club in years gone by. Her effervescent and strong personality will be sadly missed but not forgotten as she had made so many friends here in Sandycove. Denise’s resilience in her brave fight against her illness can be best illustrated in that only a matter of weeks ago she completed and attended a sell-out Exhibition in Signal Arts Centre in Bray, entitled “This Moment is Real…the Rest is Just Detail”.
Denise will be reposing on Thursday evening, November 24th, from 5pm to 7pm in Carnegies Funeral Home, Monkstown. Funeral mass on Friday 25th November will be held at 10am in The Church of the Assumption Dalkey, followed by burial in Kilternan Cemetery Park, Ballycorus Road, Kilternan.
May She Rest in Peace
