Firstly let me wish you a happy new year from myself and your committee. I hope that 2021 brings whatever you are wishing for. For me, that’s a healthy year for my family and I.

Tennis Ireland have issued new guidance received from Sport Ireland which comes into immediate effect as a result of the worsening Covid-19 situation in Ireland.

The main changes for us are:

With immediate effect.

• Doubles is only allowed with participants from 2 households. This means that doubles play is not permitted unless a partner is from the same household. If you have a booking with more than two households please adjust right now.

• Games should now be limited to 50 minutes and players must leave the club grounds immediately to avoid any crossover of people.

• All names must be correct on the online booking system in the event we need to contact trace.

If we cannot comply with the protocols there is a risk that we will be restricted further. So it is imperative that every one of us ensures that we and everyone on our court is complying. We really want to stay healthy and keep playing as much as possible.
