Hi Everyone,
I was just sitting down to dinner last night, my bum hadn’t hit the chair, when my phone pinged – I was eagerly awaiting some photos from our now famous Joe Cunningham. Will I sit or will I walk – I thought I better sit and enjoy the fare!
Joe has put together a wonderful video memory of our Championships. Just click on the link below, I know you will enjoy it.
I’m sure you all enjoyed our two weeks of spectacular tennis, I certainly did. Saturday evening was a terrific success and thanks for all the positive feedback, the whole committee had fun putting this together for you.
Listening to the six o’clock news in anticipation last evening, it looks like we might be back in our great Clubhouse on the 20th- still to be confirmed by Tennis Ireland, I can’t wait. I’m looking forward to a safe return to our Bar and Lounge and some more social activity.
Talking to our Captains we’ve had terrific interest in Winter League Tennis which starts shortly. I don’t envy them having to organise Teams, there’s lots to do. Looking at the list of players we will have some strong line ups and I wish all our teams the best of success. A pennant or two would be nice.
It’s eleven o’clock on Wednesday morning and I’m sitting on the balcony with coffee and biscuits. I’m looking out at our over 80’s men’s Team, playing in the Tennis Masters competition. Captain Bill Brennan is warming up his team of Des Fitzgerald, John Carroll, Leo Conway, and John Richardson, they look good and the best of luck to them, it’s great to see.
Again, the courts are busy, and I trust you are all making the best of the good weather we have to play and enjoy Sandycove to its fullest.
Kindest regards
Barry Totterdell
President
