Another great night of tennis last night with some hard fought battles on court. There was some sparkling tennis on display, with one of the stand out matches on court 1 delivering in spades. Larry Staines v John Quinn was always going to be a war of attrition and so it turned out. It was a terrific game with Larry taking the first set only to lose out to a gutsy performance by John Quinn in the third.

Another epic battle in the mixed doubles dominated court 5 with the Hugh Jones duo narrowly beaten by the very ‘on form’ team of Gary Grace and Siobhan Smyth.

Elsewhere, in men’s doubles Gary Grace and Andrew Browne defeated Tom Gillian and John McKeown in two sets.

Two excellent ladies doubles matches also featured on courts 2 and 3 with Clodagh Lowry/Mandy O Neill defeating Amy Murray/Deirdre Staines in two close sets and Marianne McCaffrey/Elaine Prior winning through with great style against Ruth Milne and Sarah Beth Casey.

There are some great matches scheduled for tonight and as usual, we’d ask all players to check link below to ensure they know their match times etc as some changes and updates were made last night.
