Update Week 2 – Winter League 2026
It may not have been our day on the scoreboards, but what a superb afternoon of tennis from all our Sandycove ladies!
The effort and determination across all teams was fantastic. The standard on our home courts was incredibly strong and the number of nail-biting matches had us all on edge on the balcony!
A special mention to Breege English & Lisa McGonigle (super subs for Class 3) who just missed out 11–13 in a third-set tiebreak v Clontarf. So unlucky not to grab the point, but what a match they played – absolute warriors out there. We’re so proud of you both!
Huge credit also to Lindsay McMillan & Mary Kate Ryan (Class 7), who were still digging deep at 7pm fighting for a massive point v Elm Park and didn’t stop until they got it! That’s the Sandycove spirit!
Our results sheets were full of three-setters and tiebreaks. While the overall results didn’t go our way, every game, every set and every point counts.
A big thank you also to our 14 fantastic subs who stepped up for their club – we couldn’t do it without you and thanks as always to our balcony supporters.
Week 3, we’re coming for you. Stronger, sharper and ready to put a few more points on the board.
