Wednesday Ladies Morning has always been about more than just tennis; it plays an important role in fostering the friendly and inclusive spirit of our club.
For newer members, it is a vital opportunity to meet others and feel part of the club. For those new to tennis, or returning after a long break, it may be the only regular chance to play in a comfortable and supportive setting. Without Wednesday morning’s ladies social, how can a new member get to know others, find a group, or gain experience?
It is understood that members with league experience may naturally wish to play together. At the same time, the support and encouragement of intermediate-level members can make a real difference in helping others rebuild confidence and enjoyment in the game.
The social cup of tea afterwards is another important aspect of the morning, providing a chance to connect, share experiences, and, in time, perhaps form new groups or teams.
Sandycove Tennis club has a long tradition of welcoming newcomers. The kindness and openness of established members have always been central to its character and are a hallmark of what makes this club special. It is hoped that this tradition will continue to be upheld for those joining the club now and in the future. After all, every member was once new, and the welcome received plays an important part in shaping their experience of the club.
