FLOODLIGHT LEAGUE | WEEK 2
After the men were treated to glorious sunshine for their Monday night floodlight league again, the ladies were clearly not on the weather gods’ favourite list! Another wet and miserable evening on the courts, but the ladies turned up ready for battle!
1st Team – Class 2
A fantastic night in Deerpark for our 1st team, coming away with a brilliant 3 points! Great work, ladies!
2nd Team – Class 3
It wasn’t quite our night on the singles courts. Ruth Dillon faced a very strong-hitting junior, while Aideen Sheehan battled away for HOURS before narrowly missing out after a seriously tight match. Fair play for the perseverance!
But our doubles duo Vanessa O’Reilly & Lisa McGonigle came through with the goods! They took on a strong young pairing and were delighted to get a valuable point for the team.
Third Team – Class 5
Our ladies took on Trinity 3 and, let’s be honest, it was a tough one! The girls gave it everything, but the strong team of youngsters proved too much on the night.
No points this week, but plenty of effort, plenty of running and plenty of wet socks!
Onwards & upwards for next week!
