Junior League
Huge congratulations to our U18 boys who face Rathgar in the semi finals at home at 5pm this Sunday 9th. This is a great opportunity for the older children to come along to watch some great tennis and cheer on Zach Bailey, Daniel Nolan, Reif Casserly and Conor Curran as they battle for a place in the finals! Best of luck boys!
Hard luck to our U14 boys who had a tough playoff against Bray last Saturday. To all the boys who played, very well done for getting to the playoffs!
Well done also to our two U12 mixed teams for a great Leinster League. We are still waiting for final results to come in to see if one team makes it to the playoffs, but whether they do or not, we are very proud of this group for their performance and how they presented themselves during this league.
And last but by no means least a huge well done to our U10 mixed team. Many of whom played league for the first time. We’ll be looking out for these guys in the coming years!
To all parents of U10 and U12 players, whether your child is playing for a while or only starting out, league can sound very daunting, but it is a great experience to build their confidence and give them match play practise outside of the comfort of the club. Learning to win and lose with grace is a talent in itself, as we all know, so we encourage you to put them forward if they would like to give competitive tennis a go and learn early. It’s not for everyone but if they show interest please chat to Edoardo when the next league is announced and we’ll aim to get as many as we can a chance to play for the club!
Stars and Stripes
Well done to our U14 Stars and Stripes team who face Bray in the Shield semi final this Saturday 8th at home. To all who played in this tournament, we hope you enjoyed the experience and well done in how you represented the club during your campaign to date.
Leinster Junior Tour events
Well done to Ciara Emerson for winning the U12 T500 event in Meadowvale over mid term and to Charlie Mc Guigan and Aaron O’Carroll for making it to the U12 boys doubles semi finals. It’s great to see the Sandycove hoodies on display at these events!
If your child is competing in events please let us know so we can mention them. We love to hear who’s competing where and they deserve the recognition for competing outside their comfort zone!
Halloween Mid-term camp
The Halloween camp was yet again a huge success. Thanks to Rob and his assistants for making it another enjoyable experience, despite the weather!
