Jennifer Dillon: Jennifer is a professional level 2 squash coach. As a player, she represented Ireland at junior and senior level playing at The Europeans and World Championships (individual and team events). She currently plays Master’s International events.
Jennifer started her squash career at 10 yrs in Sandycove TSC & made her league debut at 14 yrs.
She is passionate about making squash available to everyone, to enhance the natural skills and abilities of each player. Emphasising that coaching is not only about the discipline of learning a new skill or even improving fitness, it’s sociable, fun and great craic too.
Mark Kelly: Mark loves squash, not least because it is a lifestyle sport with no age, size or physical strength limitations. Lending itself so well to diverse personalities and temperaments, squash is also an intense, efficient, endorphin-fuelling pastime that requires tremendous discipline and focus. Rhythm, balance, timing and smooth movements, swinging from the hips whilst relaxing the shoulders, mindfulness and so much more come together quite magically in the game of squash – ‘chess on legs’! In return, players experience continual improvements on a number of levels, on and off the court, whilst also enjoying steadily rising levels of appreciation for the most important things in life – good health, friendship, respect and community.
Mark’s previous coaching engagements include Trinity College Dublin, Royal College of Surgeons, SPORTSCO and Mount Pleasant. His style of developing squash players of all ages, children and adults, is driven by a belief that sport should lead to life-long learning, fun and social engagement. It is also inspired by a range of coaching philosophies and a World Squash Federation process of open skills development rooted in a PDA (Perception, Decision, Action) diagnostic cycle.
If your heart and mind are enlivened by this invitation to join us at Sandycove Tennis & Squash Club, we very much look forward to meeting you
